THE LEFTOVERS

UP-CYCLED AND DISCARDED MATERIALS

The Leftovers is an up-cycle sculpture series, that I have been secretly planning and crafting for years. I am using discarded materials like computer parts, cell phones, plastic toys, cloth, metal, coins, currency and all kinds of kitchen and household utensils to fuse them together into enigmatic, futuristic resin-glass sculptures.

Inspired by Science-Fiction and Anthropology, my idea for my sculptures was to take every day items that are generally discarded and combine them into futuristic fossils that could be the leftovers of humanity in 1 million years. I create these magical artifacts as a time capsule that future archaeologist or “even beings from other worlds” would find, long after we are gone. The imagined leftovers of us, humanity as we live and breathe. Totemic memories of contemporary life.

By combining the artificial aesthetics of electronics and discarded items with well-known artworks of our own history, these works have a familiar yet strangely distant aura.
