SPACE/TIME

PAINTED LINE BY LINE WITH

HEAVY ACRYLICS AND PIPES ON CANVAS

In my series displayed here, named Space / Time, we encounter visions of the ruptures in the impermanent moment. In short, my portraits touch on the nature of individual identity and how we’re coded to try to de-code female beauty and success. I further try to absorb the audience with the depth of artistic craft designed to visually and physically uncover hints of the inexplicable in existence itself...

These days people are obsessed with the Metaverse but the Multiverse concept is even stranger than any of us could imagine. The Multiverse theory suggests that our universe, with all its hundreds of billions of galaxies and countless stars, spanning tens of billions of light-years, may not be the only one. Instead, there may be an entirely different universe, distantly separated from ours — and another, and another. Indeed, there may be an infinity of universes, all with their own laws of physics, their own collections of stars and galaxies, and maybe even their own intelligent civilizations.  While some are born with or acquire the ability to perceive other different realities, many of us are blind to what we cannot discern with our tactile senses.  With my latest exhibition "The Many Manifested Selves" I am trying to depict a sense of being within the Multiverse, I am exploring these worlds beyond our "normal" perceptual reality.

As most of you know, I love exploring the strange, illusory nature of matter itself. It would not be an exaggeration to say that my artistic inspiration is more directly related to physics than to any particular school of art or established technique. In my latest work, we encounter momentary ruptures in our perceived reality and glimpse connections to moments seen in the fabric of a parallel reality - a distant, yet strangely familiar universe. Shattered reflections of female images draw us into these different realities, and hint at aspects of multiple, fragmented identities. No perspective or reality is complete. The hologram holds the “Complete Self” but it will never let us clearly see the whole.
